Why WiseReturn exists
Most people who are owed a tax refund never claim it — and many of those who do hand over more than a third of it in fees. Neither of those sat right with us.
The market leader charges up to 36% of your refund, including VAT. The work involved doesn't justify that, and it means the people the refund belongs to keep the least of it.
So we built WiseReturn. The same professional care, done properly, at 15% with a £30 minimum. No hidden fees. No upfront costs. No win, no fee — if HMRC pays no refund, we charge nothing; and because HMRC can review refunds even after payment, we only submit claims we can evidence. HMRC pays your refund directly to you, in full — we invoice our fee afterwards, so your money never passes through our hands.
We focus on the military community because it's one of the groups most likely to be owed relief and least likely to know it: courses, detachments and postings away from your unit generate claimable costs nobody tells you about. We understand how military postings, courses and allowances work, and we build our claims around that.
We are completing our ICO registration under UK GDPR. We are registered with the ICO (registration number: ). We are completing our registration as a tax agent with HMRC — until that's confirmed we won't claim the status. We are an authorised HMRC tax agent.
